The service
School work has one unmovable constraint: the calendar. We fit out and refurbish classrooms, halls, offices and shared spaces for schools and education settings, programmed around term dates so the heavy work lands in the holidays and the site is handed back clean, safe and finished before the first bell.
Enquiries are answered within 24 hours, and school fit outs typically run 4 to 12 weeks depending on scope.

What we build
- Classroom and teaching space fit out and refurbishment
- Halls, libraries, offices and staff rooms
- Washroom refurbishment
- Decoration, flooring, joinery and repairs across the estate
- Summer works programmes planned and delivered as one package
Safeguarding
A site a school can trust
Working in education settings demands more than a tidy site. Our teams work under SMSTS qualified site management with SMAS accredited health and safety (deemed to satisfy), are first aid trained, and operate strict segregation between works areas and any occupied parts of the site. Access, deliveries and hoarding are planned with the school office, and conduct standards are set for a school environment.

FAQ
Answers from the Madisons team, led by Craig Bellamy, founder and director. Last checked 27/09/2026.
Can you complete the work during the school holidays?
That is how we prefer to programme it. Summer works are scoped and priced in the spring, materials are ordered against the holiday window, and the programme is built backwards from the first day of term. Where work must run in term time, it is phased and segregated so teaching carries on undisturbed.
What safeguarding and site standards do you work to?
SMSTS qualified management, SMAS accredited health and safety, a first aid trained team, and full segregation of works areas from pupils and staff, with access and conduct rules agreed with the school before anyone arrives. Insurance cover is £5m public liability, £10m employers liability and £1m professional indemnity.
Which schools have you worked for?
Our education clients include the National Bakery School and, most recently, Heathcote Prep School in Danbury, where our works completed in August 2026. Our earlier work includes a school renovation in Thurrock. The same commercial teams fit out 1,000 to 1,200 homes a year for national housebuilders, so a school programme sits well within our capacity.
How much does a school fit out cost?
Every programme is priced against a written scope with one transparent quotation, so bursars and business managers can compare like for like. Our projects start from £25,000, and school fit outs typically run 4 to 12 weeks, priced and programmed around the holiday windows.
Can you handle smaller repair and decoration work across the estate?
Yes, bundled properly. Decoration, flooring, joinery and repairs across the estate are usually gathered into one summer works package, scoped in the spring and delivered in the holidays, which is how smaller jobs get done to the same standard, and the same accountability, as the big ones.
