The service

For residential work, Madisons covers Essex, South London, East London and Central London from our base in Latchingdon. Our commercial fitout and new build work extends across the Home Counties and London, and our new build painting teams reach as far as Cambridge and Ipswich.

Who decides planning where

Our town pages fall under nine different councils, before counting the rest of London, and the council matters more to a project than the postcode does. Each town page names its council and the local designations we check before design starts. In short:

  • Brentwood Borough Council: Brentwood, Shenfield, Hutton Mount, Ingatestone, Mountnessing, Blackmore, Kelvedon Hatch, Herongate and Ingrave.
  • Chelmsford City Council: Chelmsford, Danbury, Little Baddow and the village of Stock.
  • Epping Forest District Council: Chigwell, Abridge, Loughton, Buckhurst Hill, Epping, Theydon Bois and Ongar.
  • Basildon Council: Billericay.
  • Maldon District Council: Wickham Bishops.
  • Rochford District Council: Rayleigh.
  • Southend-on-Sea City Council: Leigh-on-Sea.
  • London Borough of Havering: Hornchurch, Emerson Park, Gidea Park and Havering-atte-Bower.
  • London Borough of Redbridge: Woodford.
  • The individual London boroughs: everywhere on our London page.

Whichever council it is, we prepare the drawings and the application as part of the project and advise you honestly on the planning position at the first site visit.
