Kitchens & Bathrooms

Kitchen and bathroom fitters, to show home standard

Design and installation across Essex, from family bathrooms to luxury W/C fit outs.

The service

Kitchens and bathrooms are where a home’s quality is judged, because they are the rooms where every junction shows. We design and install both, as one team covering the building work, the services, the fitting and the finishing, so there is no gap between the fitter, the plumber, the tiler and the decorator. One quotation, one programme, one standard.

Projects start from £25,000, and kitchens and bathrooms are often taken on together, or within a wider renovation scheme. Tell us what you have in mind and we will be straight about whether it fits.

Kitchens

Kitchens

The kitchen carries the house. We handle the layout, the units, the worktops, the appliances, the lighting and the small structural moves that make the difference, a widened opening, a repositioned door, so the room works as hard as it looks. Where you already have a kitchen supplier, we deliver the building work and installation to the same standard; where you do not, we design and source the whole room.

Bathrooms

Bathrooms

From full bathroom renovation in Essex family homes to luxury W/C fit outs, the discipline is waterproofing first, then finish. Tanking, falls, ventilation and services are engineered before a single tile goes on, because a beautiful bathroom that leaks is neither. Fittings and finishes are sourced through our supplier relationships, at trade access most homeowners cannot reach.

Sourcing

Three decades of supplier relationships cover sanitaryware, brassware, tiles, stone, units and lighting. You choose from a curated shortlist rather than the whole internet, and everything arrives on programme as one delivery plan.

Proof

Kitchen and bathroom work we have delivered

From our earlier projects: a complete kitchen refresh and a bathroom strip out and repair. And when the kitchen needs more than fitting, we take walls out too: read about the kitchen and utility knock through in Danbury on our internal layout changes page.

For the standard at the top end, read the Chigwell case study: a kitchen installed under a bulkhead built ahead of it, and bathrooms each given their own design in LED lighting, large and small format tiles and mosaic details.

FAQ

Answers from the Madisons team, led by Craig Bellamy, founder and director. Last checked 27/09/2026.

How long does a kitchen fitting take?

As a guide, 4 to 8 weeks for a full kitchen renovation including building work, services and finishing; a straight replacement sits at the shorter end. You get an honest programme with your quotation, and we plan around keeping the household fed while the room is out of action.

What does a bathroom renovation include?

Everything from strip out to the final silicone bead: waterproofing, first fix plumbing and electrics, tiling, sanitaryware, brassware, lighting, ventilation and decoration. We do not hand parts of the room to other trades; one team owns the whole result.

Can you fit a kitchen or bathroom we have already bought?

Yes. We deliver the building work and installation to the same standard whatever the source, though it is worth talking to us before you order: our supplier access often gets you a better specification for the same money, and buying cheap has a way of meaning buying twice.

How much does a new kitchen or bathroom cost?

Every scheme is priced individually against its specification, and our projects start from £25,000, which is why kitchens and bathrooms are often taken on together or within a wider renovation. The specification is what moves the total most, because it is where quality shows, and our philosophy on it is consistent: it is not always about money, it is about value.

Do you handle the building work as well as the fitting?

Yes, that is the point of the service. One team covers the building work, the services, the fitting and the finishing, so there is no gap between the fitter, the plumber, the tiler and the decorator, and no dispute about whose junction failed. One quotation, one programme, one standard.

Can you move walls to make the room bigger?

Yes. The small structural moves, a widened opening, a repositioned door, are part of the kitchen service, and where the room needs a proper knock through we handle that too: a load bearing wall out, an engineered steel in, exactly as our internal layout changes service describes. We did just that in Danbury, turning a kitchen and utility into one connected space.
